Our Story

A Passion for Brass…

BCHIN LOCOMOTIVES, founded by Peter Chin, is a Collection of prototypical Brass Model Trains that are rare and expertly crafted. We have carefully curated a Collection of various scales: painted, unpainted, from steam to diesel and many out-of-production models. We are train Lovers and Enthusiasts, and we welcome you to our Collection.

Since 1998, we have been collecting Brass Model Trains from various brand name distributors and manufacturers with names like: ALCO, Oriental, Challenger, Key, Overland, and W&R to name a few. Made by Master Craftsman of Samhongsa, Ajin, and Boo Rim who are known for their pride in creating intricate and finely detailed pieces. This attention to detail is captured in the prototypical Brass model, which replicates not only the look, but the actual precision movement of the steam and diesel electric locomotives built in the United States of America.

Thank you for visiting our Collection. We hope you will purchase what is becoming some of the hardest-to-find, extremely rare, fascinating brass collectible model trains ever made or seen since the 1950s by Akane, Sakura, Tenshodo, Precision Scale, Overland, Key, Boo Rim…. to name a few. These pieces come from as far away as Japan, Korea and even the United States. One such piece was created in 1971 by freelance model builder, John E. Bailey, who handmade a Mikado 2-8-2, circa 1935, which is truly astounding to behold.

Some of our Collection is now available for sale. All sales are final.

Thanks again for your interest in our Collection.
